Lola is talking so much that we can really have a conversation with her. Although her name is Lola Jo Henderson-Thomas, she prefers to call herself "Lola Doh Hummus."
Juliet is home with Lucy now as Stephanie has gone back to work. Lucy has just started to giggle and is the cutest baby that has ever been (since Lola)! She is so easygoing and smiley - she wins the hearts of everyone around her!Comments:Add a comment:

i forgot to mention that the only thing lola said she wanted for her birthday were tights, so i had juliet run and go get a pair (black and red, the colors she requested). although neither of us believe we have EVER mentioned the word "tights" to lola, we would have been remiss should we not get her the only thing she requested.
we forgot to give them to her for her birthday, so we gave them to her tonight. she was so excited, so anxious to get those tights on. juliet and stephanie were both shocked!
we included some of the photos in her 2nd birthday album. she looks like an elf!Comments:Add a comment:

Today is Lola's second birthday. What a ride it has been. She has been in such a happy mood lately, I wonder if she has been excited in anticipation of her birthday.
We went to "Camp Laguna" on Sunday, despite all of us being sick. And today when Lola woke up, she was treated so some balloons around the house, a sign that she can't read, some streamers, and little presents around the house. We brought chocolate cupcakes to her school so she could celebrate with her classmates. When she went into the classroom, one of her friends started singing "Happy Birthday" (what she could of it, anyway, she's only 2!) and the rest of the class sang the song throughout the day. They even painted a big "happy birthday Lola!" poster. It was very sweet.
Strangely, the only thing that Lola said she wanted was tights. Black tights. It's weird since Juliet and Stephanie don't wear tights. In fact, neither of us think we have even uttered the word "tights", but as Stephanie told Juliet, we'd feel guilty if we didn't get them for her (though both of us are positive-sure she will never-ever allow us to actually put them on!).
When Juliet and Stephanie picked up Lola from school, she seemed very happy an upbeat. She tried to sing the happy birthday song. We left school and went to...IN & OUT (surprisingly, Juliet's idea, though Stephanie did not object). Lola dipped her fries into ketchup, and then just sucked the ketchup off the fry. She was VERY excited to have water with ice in it in a cup with a straw. She loved the Elmo shirt we bought her.
On the way home, we stopped by Baskin Robbins and got Lola an ice cream cone turned upside down with frosting on it. I think it's supposed to be a clown. She loved it.
She was smiles all day. Perfect for a birthday.Comments:Add a comment:

Yesterday Lucy started giggling. She's about 13 1/2 pounds now (to Lola's just about 23 pounds). She's having 5 ounces a feeding now...
Lola's second birthday is this week...last week the school had "Winter Festivities" and even though the "performance" by the two year olds was basic, little Lola rathered to stay by her mommies sides as her classmates shook rattles and bells and "sang" songs about the holidays and marched around the classroom.
On a good day, Lola can count to 15. Must've learned this at school!
Lucy and Mommy have come down with a cold. It was Lola and Mama who came down with something last month. Harrumph. : (
For the holidays we are going to go to a cabin in a place called Pine Mountain. Stephanie's sister Bonnie and family rents a nearby cabin, as well as our cousin Denise and her family. We are hoping for a white Christmas and Juliet splurged on a snowsuit for Lola. We already have snow bundles for Lucy.
