Lola and Lucy Henderson-Thomas

April 2005

Lola met her friends Ava and Carter and their mom Samantha from Northern California this weekend. They brought a great present for Lola (a set of musical instruments) that they all enjoyed playing. Although the meeting was brief due to napping schedules, Lola at least attempted their names (Carter = Tuh and Ava = Ah-Blah).

In the meantime, Juliet and Stephanie were so excited to meet the trio, they forgot all manners and starved them all to death by not offering anything to eat or drink. Oy!

We hope they forgive us, so we can see them again soon and play.

Lola has such a great laugh and sense of humor. She giggles a lot in the morning, and her signing is really helpful to us (when she wants to eat, when she wants milk, when she wants water, when she wants a book, when she wants more of something, and when she is done). Before she goes off to school, she likes to run around in her new backyard, and she'll say "bwee" which means swing. Mom will put her in the backyard swing for a few minutes, and Lola has a great time. After a few minutes, she'll sign "done." And then it's off to school!

Lola graduated from infant class to toddler class yesterday, and is loving it. She's been in such a good mood, eating a lot and sleeping a lot. When the teachers say it's time to take a nap, Lola walks to her cot and lays down.

Today when we were getting dressed, she picked out the shoes she wanted to wear. For breakfast, she chose yogurt over applesauce. At bedtime, 6:30pm, she says "bye", waves, makes a "sleep" sign, and goes right to bed. She has been waking up at 7:45am, which definitely works for Mommy.

She is a bit strong-willed and when one says no, she'll either cry or give you a very furrowed brow. But she is still the most adorable thing in the world. Mom loves it when Lola reaches for her hand before she goes into the Toddler Room. It's really, really sweet and it makes Mom all gooey inside.

She is walking and talking!!!! Lola's newest words are bwee (swing) and Pa (Grandpa)! She walks around everywhere and keeps very busy!

Little One is also throwing tantrums on a regular basis. Not quite as cute and lovable as the walking and talking!
