Lola loves Westward Ho! She is truly an English lass! Everyday after breakfast she helps Granny water the garden; she has her own watering can which she is very proud of and especially loves to water the new silver birch tree that Granny planted a few days ago.
In the afternoons we go to the sea (which Lola calls the "bath"). At first she was scared of the waves, but now she goes plunging in, holding Mama's hand very tightly.
By 7 pm she is exhausted and sleeps a good 12 hours every night!Comments:Add a comment:

Lola is in England with Mama right now (Westward Ho!). They're visiting Granny and Grandpa. Yesterday she went to the tidepools and had a great time. They'll be gone for 3 weeks. : (
Lola has this thing now where she shrugs her shoulders and lifts up her hands, as if to ask: who me? She's done this when we've asked "where's the kitty?" or other things...
She also tends to put her hands behind her back as she strolls or watches other people. It's quite charming.
Finally, Lola is getting over her separation anxiety. She is much more apt to not cry when a new person enters the picture. Thank god.
She certainly seems to understand nearly everything we say...I'll ask her to put away her clothes in her bedroom, and she'll do it. Or to find her shoes for school, and she'll bring me a pair. Ot to put something in the trash.
She also tries to put on mommy's shoes, or will bring our shoes to us.
She is pretty much done with her high-chair, she prefers to sit at the table in her booster chair. She lets us know when she is done by a mixture of sign language and saying "done", and when Mom hands her a paper towel, she cleans her hands, her mouth, and wipes up the table in front of her. It's REALLY cute.Comments:Add a comment:

Lola is becoming much more communicative. Her newest word is "no," and she uses it frequently. She also nods her head and seems to understand almost everything we ask/say. She is very helpful and likes to help carry things and clean. We pay her $.20 per hour. :-)
