Lucy has a tooth!!! Finally, at 6 1/2 months. We were wondering if one was coming through, because she had been a bit cranky these past few days, and yes, indeed she was teething!

The Henderson-Thomas house is the House of Sickness. All but Lola were attacked by some bug. Blech. But through her getting sick, still, Lucy smiled. We're all on the mend.

We are in so much trouble. Lola has turned into a master manipulator. We are going to have to work very hard to present a united front to our little girls. Lola looooves Dora. She's absolutely obsessed with her. Her first words of the day are usually "Watch Dora?" which she repeats, I would guess, about 500 times each day. Anyway, last night she asked Mama, "Watch Dora?" To which Mama said no. Darling little sweet Manipulator then turned to Mommy (who tends to be a HUGE pushover when it comes to the girlies), batted her eyelashes, got all cute and cuddly, and said, "Watch Dora?" Naturally we both cracked up because it was hilarious in how obviously she knew which mother would cave and what she had to do to get her to cave!!! She is going to be trouble, that little Lola Jo!

Yesterday, Saturday, we introduced Lucy to rice cereal. She seemed intrigued...We wanted to introduce it sooner, but she has been so clogged and congested that the doc thought it would be best if we waited.
Yesterday, we also applied for Lucy's passport for her big trip this summer to England to visit Granny and PaPa. We got a hard time from the passport person because we were two moms and both of our names are on Lucy's birth certificate. I think she had a hard time with it, but hopefully everything will be ok...
Uncle Doug came to our house and installed our dryer. We've been without one for ONE YEAR. We've already done multiple loads of laundry (read Juliet has done multiple loads of laundry), and I can't believe we've waited an entire year before hooking it up. Oy.
Stephanie has caught some sort of bug, and Juliet has been amazing about taking care of the kids, doing some chores, esp. since Little Lola has been having meltdowns consistently over the past few weeks. We think some back molars are coming in.
Lola asked if I was feeling sick, and when I replied YES, she said something to the effect of "sore tummy?". Then she said something like Papa could take care of it (!). Papa and Granny will be visiting us in a couple of weeks...

I DON'T LIKE IT!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGG
This is Lola's new mantra that she screams in a growly-roar-gutteral-exorcist-like tone all the time. It's usually directed towards Mama, Mommy or the dogs - Mama and Mommy because they have said no to something, and the doggies for their mere existence (poor things).
Lucy, on the other hand, continues to be as sweet as ever - probably because she can't talk yet!Comments:Add a comment:

Lucy is 6 months today! : )
Hard to believe it has been a half of a year already...
Very happy to have her in our lives. Still sweet (although going back and forth on whether she wants to sleep through the night or not. : (
And dear Lola has decided it would be fun to wake up at 6:30am now - about an hour earlier than when Lucy wakes up these days... Oy.Comments:Add a comment:

Well, it's pretty clear that you just are who you are. Nurture has been thrown out the window once again.
Today we took Lola shopping for new shoes (which she was VERY excited about) and while Mommy and Mama went straight to the tennis shoe/jocky section (although still pink!), Lola went straight to the ultra-girly section and picked out pink sling backs with a floral design. She would not give the shoes we picked out the time of day. She threw a fit when we told her "no" on the shoes she picked out, so Mommy asked the store helper to go ahead and give us the smallest size they had. Thankfully, they were MUCH to big.
Sadly, however, the next pair of shoes that she HAD TO HAVE were white patent leather mary jane shoes, with a BOW. The shoes fit, and Mommy couldn't tell her no. She danced around with them throughout the store, and had to keep them on while we left the store. She was so happy. When we got home she had to wear them to take a nap. It made Mommy smile; it's the small things in life...Comments:Add a comment:

Hooray! Lucy slept through the night for the first time last night! A solid 8 hours, from 11pm to 7am!
Hopefully, she'll keep doing that; she and Lola are now sharing a room...Comments:Add a comment:

The girls get daily reports from their school. It's really cute. Sample notes:
March 1 - (Lucy) - "Today I went on my first buggy ride as an official infant! I sat with my friends and we went up and down the street! It was fun!!"
March 1 - (Lola) "Today I started learning about the sky! I made cotton ball clouds and listened to a sky magnet board story!"
and an "ouch" report: "Lola was running outside when she fell and scraped her knees. We washed the injured area, applied a bandaid, and gave her a hug."
Feb. 28 - (Lola) "Today I read MOUSE MESS, danced with streamers, and practiced cutting with scissors!"
