"Lucy!" Lola yelled down the hall. "You want your nails painted?"
"Yeah," Lucy responds.
And then Lola pretends to give Lucy a manicure.
Seriously, we're not exactly sure where Lola got this from, but it's alien to us. But sweet when the girls play nicely together...

Lola rode her Dora bike today. It's not the first time she has been on the bike, but it's the first time she actually pedaled! She went all around our front yard/quad area with her friend Bella.
Juliet and I were so excited about it we forgot about Lucy, who wandered off the path and into a construction zone with a pile of dirt. It was probably less than 5 or 10 minutes, but we did begin to panic.
Lots of people helped us try to locate her...kids on bikes, parents, everyone. Since Lucy destroyed my glasses the other day, I couldn't help in the search. Our friend and neighbor Tom found her, with help from a neighborhood kid who went to search for her on his bike.
We love Lucy, but man, she is not anything at all like Lola, Ms. Safety Patrol. Earlier in the day, Lucy got a hold of a box of thumb tacks and took them all out and transfered them into a candle box (she then took out the candles and put them in the thumb tack box).
Lucy.

It's been a long time since I've written...have had some troubles uploading photos...
but wanted to write that it was Lola's first day of "big school" today. She's been looking forward to it, but got extremely clingy and shy as we waited for the bus. Many of the neighborhood kids (about 15) came up to her and said hi, and one sweet neighbor girl that Lola loves even asked if she could sit with her (Lola didn't respond; she just buried herself into Mama).
When there was a group photo taken, Lola was too shy to get in it, so Lucy ran into her place. Pretty funny.
Happily, however, once the bus came, Lola waited in line to get on the bus and seemed to be just driven to do what she was told. She didn't seem happy or sad about it, more curious than anything, I think, since we've been talking about it for so long. Lucy was very upset that she couldn't get on the bus with her sister.
Overall, we hear that Lola had a great day of pre-school once she saw a doll and a play-kitchen in her new room.
Both Juliet and I think that little Lola is a very brave little girl. She loves amusement park rides and she does things even though she might be a little scared. We're very proud of her!Comments:granny and papa: Thank you so much for writing. Good to hear from you and to get this description of Lola's first day. She's a brave little girl and glad it all went well. Lucy has the makings of a celebrity!Add a comment:
